Customising events by making food a priority
A popular choice for both local and national event organisers the Tait Technology Centre is changing things up and putting the spotlight on catering services to ensure that the venue can continue to grow and attract clientele that are seeking a venue with a difference, to satisfy their unique event requirements.
Karen Hamilton of 360 Degree Events, which manages the centre, says “We don’t want to rest on the infrastructure of the venue alone as we move our business development efforts forward."
"We understand that event organisers need more than just functional spaces to create memorable events, and often it is the food and beverage offering that can make or break a delegate’s event experience.”

In response to this, they have partnered with four of Christchurch’s most innovative and reputable catering companies and will be working closely with them to create dining offerings that will further enhance the venue’s service standards.
Hirer’s now have the option of working with Continental Catering, Eaton Drink Co, Moveable Feasts and White Tie Catering.
“We believe that these caterer’s each bring their own distinctive flavour to the hospitality sector and with multiple brands within their portfolios we are able to extend the offering further to also incorporate The Catering Dept and Stu’s Smokin’ BBQ”
Enquiries for the warmer months are already coming in and interest in hosting social events in the beautifully landscaped outdoor courtyards, situated to enjoy the afternoon sun, and the spacious atrium areas has seen a noticeable increase. Hirer’s who are looking for alternatives and flexibility in event design are going to enjoy the ability to customise their catering to include market and food truck style service, BBQ’s and outdoor cocktail functions.
This versatile conference and event facility located 15-minutes from the central city also incorporates three large interconnecting conference rooms that can seat 240 theatre style, with a good pre-function space overlooking the campus. Plus, there is ample free onsite parking and complimentary integrated audiovisual equipment and free WiFi in all rooms.
“To further support the needs of hirers we also offer hourly hire rates and discounts for not-for-profit organisations” Hamilton explained. “We are looking forward to combining all that is already great about the venue with the enthusiasm and expertise of our new catering partners to ensure that events staged at the Tait Technology Centre tick all the boxes!’.
